# Add customers for automatic asks

Source: https://help.testimonials.ltd/articles/automatic-asks-customer-list

The **Customers** page lets you add your customers once, so each of them is asked for a testimonial at the right time and followed up once, without you sending batches by hand.

## Add customers

1. Open the **Customers** page from **Requests**.
2. Paste one customer per line, as `email`, `email, Name` or `Name <email>`. Or click **Upload CSV** with the columns `email`, `name` and optionally `tag`.
3. Optional: add a **Tag for these customers**, for example "Q4 clients".
4. Click **Add to list**.

## Set the timing

- **Automatic asks**: turns asking on or off for the list.
- **Ask after**: **Right away**, or 1 to 60 days after you add someone (default 3 days).
- **One reminder** and **Remind after**: one follow-up, 2 to 14 days later (default 4 days).
- **Email**: the template to use.

## Follow each customer

Every customer shows a status: **Not asked**, **Asked**, **Opened**, **Clicked**, **Rated**, **Testimonial**, **Unsubscribed** or **Bounced**.

## If you see a banner

- **"Automatic asks are not switched on yet"**: you can build your list, but nothing is sent yet. Email support@testimonials.ltd if you want it switched on for your account.
- **"Automatic asks are paused"**: too many emails to this list bounced or were marked as spam. Clean the list, then click **Resume asks**.

To protect your sender reputation, new lists start slowly and send a little more each week.
