To ask users for a testimonial while they are using your product, create an in-app prompt under Requests, Settings, In-app prompt, then paste its snippet into your app. Happy users are invited to leave a testimonial, and low ratings come to you privately instead of going public.

Create the prompt

  1. Click Requests in the top menu.
  2. Open the Settings tab, then In-app prompt.
  3. Create the prompt under Collect testimonials inside your product.

Choose how it looks and behaves

  • Format: Modal (default), Card, Banner or Inline.
  • Position: Center, Bottom right, Bottom left or Top, for floating formats.
  • Prompt text, for example “Enjoying it so far? We’d love a quick testimonial.”
  • Thank-you text.
  • Whether to accept text, video or both.
  • Private feedback message: shown to people who give a low rating.
  • Star threshold: 3 stars and up, 4 stars and up (default) or 5 stars only. Only ratings at or above this are invited to leave a public testimonial.
  • Cooldown (days): how long before the same person can be asked again (default 30).
  • Auto-trigger with an Auto delay (seconds) (default 20).

Install it

  1. Copy the snippet.
  2. Paste it just before the closing </body> tag of your app.
  3. Optional: tell us who the user is with window.testimonials.identify({ name, email, avatarUrl }), and show the prompt at a good moment with window.testimonials.trigger("your-event").

Each person is asked at most once per cooldown, and this cooldown is shared with your email requests, so nobody gets asked twice.

See how it performs

The Performance card shows how many people saw the prompt, rated, and submitted over the last 7 days, 30 days and all time.
